General Registration Information
Only undergraduate and graduate students may register for WorldMUN.
Each university may send only one delegation (aka. group) to WorldMUN, and should have a head delegate and/or faculty adviser.
Each delegation may bring up to 15 delegates (or up to 20 delegates with “Early Registration” before 15 October 2011). Delegates beyond this number can be entered onto a waitlist, and will be informed by February of their status.
Single delegates can register for the conference (if they are the only delegate attending from their university). If a university is sending more than one delegate to WorldMUN, students from the university must attend as part of a delegation, and cannot register separately.
Harvard and the Host Team University are dedicated to staffing the conference. Delegations from the Host Team University and Harvard may not attend WorldMUN.
The registration and delegate fees cover conference fees, and do not include accommodation/transportation/food.
Those delegates who do not meet the 15 November 2011 registration deadlines, will be moved to the WorldMUN wait list. Please contact us at admin[at]worldmun[dot]org if you are having difficulty meeting a deadline; the earlier we know in advance - the more steps we can take to help.
Those delegations that do not submit total payment by 1 February 2012, will be removed from conference registration; and the spots they occupied will be given to a delegation on the waitlist.
WorldMUN is committed to offering a global experience for its delegates; and reserves the right to select from registering delegations so as to ensure international diversity at conference.
What is Early Registration?
Early registration gives those delegations that submit their registration fee (US$75) and 25% of delegate fees by 15 October 2011, priority consideration for country assignments and the option to bring a higher number of delegates (up to 20 delegates, rather than the 15 delegate cap).
How can I pay for WorldMUN?
Paying by credit card through Paypal is the easiest and best method of payment and can be done during online registration.
Payment Deadlines are 11:59 p.m. EST on the given deadline date.
All balances must be paid before the delegate/delegation can check-in at conference
Delegations who do not submit the payments required by 15 November 2011 are subject to late fees and to lower priority on country assignments.
What are the different fees?
Registration Fee:
A registration fee of US$75 is due with the initial application for the conference. This payment will only have to be made once, per delegation (ie: the entire team from your university pays US$75, regardless of the number of delegates). This fee is non-refundable.
Faculty Advisor Fee:
A fee of US$55 will be charged per faculty advisor. Each delegation is required to have either a head delegate or a faculty advisor. The refund and name change deadlines and policies for faculty advisors are the same as outlined for delegates. Each delegation can only bring up to two faculty advisors.
Delegate Fee & Late Fees:
By 15 November 2011, a school must submit its country preference(s) and the number of delegates that it will bring to the conference, and pay its registration fee ($75) in full along with at least 25% of its delegate fees ($105 per delegate).
After 15 November 2011, a late fee of US$20 per delegation will be assessed for each week that these fees have not been paid by the appropriate deadlines.
Between 15 November 2011 and 1 February 2012, a school may reduce the number of delegates it will bring to the conference and will be eligible for a 50% refund on the fees for the dropped delegates.
After 1 February 2012, no refunds on delegate fees will be given. At no time will a school be granted a refund on delegate fees if it is unable to meet the minimum number of delegates required for the country/countries to which it has been assigned. We cannot guarantee spots for delegates added after 1 February 2012.
Additionally, the names of the delegates can be changed without penalty until 1 February 2012. After 1 February 2012, a US$15 fee will be charged to change a delegate name, in order to replace printed materials for each delegate.
Optional Fees:
Social Event Tickets: Social Event tickets will go on sale in January 2012. Buying a Social Events package is optional, but we sell out each year, since more than 90% of delegates buy the packages every year! Social Events are a fundamental part of the WorldMUN experience, allowing delegates to meet fellow delegates and soak in the culture of our host city. Continue to check back to our website for more information.
Post-Conference Trip Bookings: More informationa on the Post-Conference Trips will be up soon!
Financial Aid:
Financial will be awarded to teams that demonstrate substantial financial need and have already fundraised significant amounts toward attending WorldMUN. Each delegation that would like to apply for financial aid must submit theapplication online after paying the initial $75 registration fee.
Financial Aid applications are due 15 November 2011. Teams receiving fee waivers will be notified by early December.
Financial Aid is given in check form to delegations on the last day of the conference, contingent upon members of the delegations in question attending their committees throughout the week.
Those attendees who pay after the WorldMUN Regular Registration Deadline of 15 November 2011 – will no longer be eligible for Financial Aid.
Refunds:
The registration fee is non-refundable. If a request for a refund is made before 1 February 2012, 50% of all conference payments (excluding registration fee) will be refunded.
After 1 February 2012, all conference payments will be nonrefundable.
In the case of cancellation of the conference due to a natural disaster, health epidemic, conference payments will remain nonrefundable.
